Event Description

Preliminary Round – ‘Emoconte’

The event ‘Emoconte’ serves as a preliminary round, designed to foster participants' creativity, dramatisation and literary prowess. Each group will comprise of four participants who need to weave a story continually and successively, according to the instructions at the venue.

 

 

Rules and Procedures

  • The order of speaking by the participants and the groups they belong to will be randomly formed by the host school.

  •  The participants will be judged individually.

  • 10 finalists will be shortlisted for the Final round ‘Debate’.

 

 

Final Round – Debate

Statement of the Debate:

   Advancements in AI will herald a new dark age, limiting the advancement of human potential .

​

Rules and Procedures

  • Selected students will speak ‘For’/ ‘Against’ the motion as per draw of lots by the host school.

  • Each participant will speak for 2 minutes and have 1 minute for rebuttal to voice their opinions on the other speakers.

  • Participant-1 will speak for 2 minutes and 1 minute for rebuttal will be given after the last speaker.

  • One question for each participant will be asked by the panel of judges.

  • Appropriate language and decorum should be maintained at all times.

  • Refrain from looking into the paper or cue cards at all points of time. They will be disqualified if they do the same.

 

Judgment Criteria

  • Emoconte: Content, Creativity, Dramatisation, Innovativeness and Language

  • Debate- Content, Persuasiveness, Confidence, Language and Question Round by the Judges.
