Event Description

Designing a Mathematical Conceptual Board Game –

This event showcases the creative process of designing a board game using mathematical concepts. By incorporating mathematical principles, participants will develop a clear, precise framework for understanding, analysing, and potentially optimizing the game.

Rules and Procedures

This event consists of two rounds.

Round 1

Designing a board game themed around fantasy adventures, historical events, or modern-day scenarios on chart paper using mathematical concepts.

  • Teams will be given 45 minutes to make a board game on a chart paper.

  • Chart Paper will be provided at the venue.

  • Students must design a board game on one of the topics listed at the venue.

  • Participants need to bring basic stationery like pencils, erasers, rulers, coloured pencils/markers/crayons, and decorative items and materials such as KG cardboard, scissors, glue etc. and design the board game on a chart paper within the allotted time.

  • The design must incorporate mathematical concepts.

  • At least 80% of the chart paper's surface area must be utilized.

  • Students must strictly adhere to the time limit and complete their board game before time limit; late submissions will not be accepted.

  • The design must be labelled with the participant's/team's name.

  • Judging criteria include creativity, effective use of mathematical concepts, adherence to the theme, presentation, neatness, and overall appeal.

  • Each team must display their completed board game and provide an explanation of their work, highlighting the concepts used, within three minutes.
